Who Are Super Chargers?

Super Chargers! – Join and Have Fun Volunteering!

Super Chargers is a program that facilitates volunteer opportunities for our students.  Students will get exposure to opportunities to volunteer and they may find some opportunities on their own as well. Students track their hours and get a signature for each specific opportunity and turn them in to the office.

At the end of the year, students receive a certificate (6th graders) and a pin or medal
(7th/8th graders) when certain milestones are reached. Super Chargers are encouraged to come share with other Super Chargers and be a part of the community. We will periodically have little “get togethers”, breakfasts, and lunches to celebrate our program and learn from each other.

To sign up to be a Super Charger or for more information,

simply email  Super Chargers

Stay tuned for dates of Super Charger gatherings at school.

Active Super Chargers

This is someone who has turned in two or more activity forms from different organizations or activities since the end of the last school year. This is to encourage our students to extend their volunteering experiences into the community.

How do I become a Super Charger?

When you decide you want to join the Super Charger Program as a volunteer, fill out an activity form, get it signed, and turn it in at the attendance window. If you have questions, have your parent email Super Chargers with your name and grade. The Super Charger program runs on a school year calendar from summer to the end of the school year (June 1st - May 31st). Incoming 6th graders may participate after they complete 5th grade.

What Are the Volunteer Activities?

Super Charger volunteer activities are divided into 3 categories:

  • Greater Community Service—outside of the Tri-Valley Area
  • Local Community Service—Service to a community or organization in the Tri-Valley Area (school, religious group, etc.)
  • Individual Service—serving an individual or animal (babysitting, teacher helper, party helper, in-home pet fostering). 8 hr/yr max for individual service activities.

Super Chargers have worked with a wide variety of organizations:

  • School & PTA events
  • Religious school or camp
  • Town of Danville
  • Teacher Helper
  • Food Banks
  • Community Events
  • Assistant Coaching
  • Humane Societies
  • Nursing/Senior Homes
  • Gardening & Yard Work
  • Pet Sitter/House Sitter
  • Baby Sitter

The Greater Community Service and Local Community Service activities fall into the category of Community Service work (CS).

How Do I Find Volunteer Jobs?

Please email Super Chargers to be added to the list. During the summer, you will need to be resourceful. You can ask teachers, friends, neighbors, churches, senior homes, animal rescues, etc. It is your responsibility to look for volunteer opportunities.
